The Grinch "Paper Slide" Show

Second grade classrooms made a "paper slide"  show to go along with their holiday writing.  The classes read the book The Grinch, and then talked about the Grinch's character traits.  They listened to the song from the animated movie The Grinch and visualized the words to the song.  Then the students created writing that told all the ways they would make a Grinch smile by using ideas the kids do with their friends and families.  Finally, the students illustrated the lines from the Grinch song and made a "paper slides" show of the song.  This activity allowed the students to think about how we treat others, focus on character traits in a story, write persuasively, use technology, and practice giving an oral presentation.  The class really enjoyed the activity, which was easy to put together, and the parents were able to see the "paper slide" show on their children's blogs.
