Career Aspiration Independent Study

The students in the TAG 5th Grade Language Arts class recently completed a "Career Aspiration" independent study. Each student conducted a career interest inventory, researched a career, learned about the education and expenses necessary for his/her career path, and then completed a portfolio and electronic Prezi to show what was learned. See some of these Prezis. below.

Public Service Announcements

Ms. Wilczynski's 4th graders chose an environmental issue about which they were passionate, and conducted an independent research study project. One part of this project was making a Public Service Announcement – a voice or video recording, or Powerpoint slideshow in support of their environmental issue. They used multimedia of all kinds to get their voices heard!

Career Aspiration, an ISP

The 5th grade TAG students in Mrs. Kolodzinski's class at Kathy Caraway Elementary recently completed an Independent Study Project called Career Aspiration. Students took an interest inventory, selected a career to research, and interviewed an expert in their particular field of interest. After learning about steps in the career path and college expenses, the students then put together a portfolio which included possible future employers, a cover letter, and resume. Finally, the students created presentations using Prezi, a cloud based zooming presentation software, to share what they learned with fellow classmates.
